Bongeunsa Temple
View on mapA night visit to Bongeunsa, with a glowing white Buddha, a big Dharma wheel and arched paths of colourful lanterns stretching into the dark. Wide courtyards made it easy to wander with the toddler in the stroller.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
View on mapA Buddhist temple perched right on the rocky Busan coastline, with a curving stone bridge, waves breaking against the cliffs below and rows of colourful lanterns above. Crowded and joyful, well worth the drive out.
Bulguksa's sunlit courtyards are strung with rows of red and rainbow lanterns, with painted guardian figures flanking the entrance and beautifully decorated wooden halls. Our toddler wore a lime-green hanbok and had a ball running around.
