Three Suitcases is reader-supported. Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you click one and then make a qualifying booking or purchase, we may earn a commission. We do not add a fee to your booking; the partner controls the price, availability, and offer shown to you.

Why we use affiliate links

Affiliate commissions help us cover the cost of running the site and, eventually, a small slice of the trips we write about. Affiliate links are one revenue stream. We may also accept clearly labelled sponsorships, paid content licensing, hosted access, or UGC work when it fits the audience.

Sponsored campaigns and gifted work

If a trip, hotel stay, attraction visit, product, article, social post, email mention, or content asset is paid for, gifted, hosted, or licensed by a brand, we will disclose that relationship clearly. Commercial work does not guarantee a positive review, and brands do not get to remove honest caveats that matter to families.

Our rules for recommendations

• We only recommend places, hotels, tours, or products we actually used or would be happy to use on a future trip.
• We never recommend something we did not enjoy just because it has an affiliate programme.
• If a place was disappointing, we say so, even if there is a commission on offer.
• Our itinerary, costs, and honest verdict come first. Affiliate links are added around them, not the other way around.

What we link to

Where affiliate programmes exist for services we genuinely use, we may include affiliate links to:

• Hotel and accommodation booking sites.
• Tour and activity marketplaces.
• Transit pass and ticket platforms.
• Travel gear, books, and products we have used ourselves.

Not every outbound link is an affiliate link. We add tracked links only where a relevant partner option is available; ordinary map and information links remain separate.

How to spot an affiliate link

Affiliate links in our guides are marked (Ad) beside the place or booking link before you click. They also use the sponsored link attribute for search engines. Map links and unmarked editorial links are not treated as affiliate bookings by us.

Privacy

When you click an affiliate link, the partner may set cookies on their own domain to attribute the booking to us. That data is governed by the partner's own privacy policy, not ours.
